The Amber Folio
Holland Park, London
Amber stone, soft linen and a quieter room for reading

Design story
A broad cream sectional gives the drawing room a generous, low centre of gravity. Opposite, two dark leather chairs create a more upright counterpoint. Between them, the amber-toned stone table brings movement and colour into an otherwise restrained palette of linen, tobacco and warm ivory.
The architectural detail remains part of the composition: decorative cornices, tall windows and botanical wall panels frame the contemporary furniture. A circular metal pendant echoes the scale of the seating arrangement without competing with the ceiling ornament.
The library translates these materials into a more intimate setting. Dark fitted bookshelves surround a leather reading chair, while concealed shelf lighting gives books and objects their own presence. Amber-toned stone returns at the fireplace, connecting the rooms through a recognisable material detail.
